The report was presented by the researcher from the UNESCO headquarters Katarzyna Kubacka. The World Education Monitoring Report 2019 continued to analyze the results of achieving Goal 4 in the area of 鈥嬧�媠ustainable development - ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all. In addition, the presentation contained factual data on the extent and general characteristics of various types of migration, as well as differences in the structure of migration and the regulations concerning the training of migrants. Katarzhina Kubatska substantiated the existing relationship between education and migration, as well as highlighted the diverse and challenging problems that arise in front of educational systems in connection with the massive mobility of people. For example, indifference to the education of migrants leads to the fact that many opportunities in the field of human potential will be lost. Problems with paperwork, lack of data, or bureaucratic and uncoordinated systems prevent people from overcoming administrative barriers. The speaker drew attention to the support of highly qualified teachers who work in a multilingual and multicultural team of students, often in need of socio-psychological assistance. In addition, a well-thought-out curriculum that promotes diversity, provides essential skills, and fights prejudices within and outside the school is critical.

The event was attended by representatives of international services of Russian and foreign leading universities. Following the meeting, the rector of RUDN University Vladimir Filippov proposed to make the practice of holding the presentation of UNESCO World Monitoring Report on Education at our university permanently. The 2020 report will focus on inclusive education.
