“Working on the project, we stayed up all night”: the project of RUDN University students takes gold at the International Forum of Student Media
50 students from 25 countries from Uzbekistan to Madagascar participated in master classes from journalists, producers and editors. After classes, they created their own media projects, which were then presented to the jury.
“Working on the project, we stayed up all night. We filmed synchros, searched for interruptions and edited the final video. Our project is the final video about participation in the forum. Master classes, expert sessions and the most memorable excursions are all included in the film. At the forum, I learned how to involve the audience in the project, work in a team, create useful content and take interviews on press approaches,” Abdulay Jeru Diko, Chad (3rd year student of “Journalism”).
“In three days, we made a lot of content — from classic reports to comics and vertical clips. The most difficult thing is to come up with and implement a project in just 2 days. There was no time for rest: in addition to the project, we had homework to do. Despite the catastrophic lack of time, we did it! We returned to Moscow with a pleasant and unexpected victory,” Mahrullah Amiri, Afghanistan (1st year student of “International Relations”).
“I’m not very good at editing, but I like making videos. I tried myself as an operator on the forum, and it was great! I remember how at 11 pm our team started filming the final video. Everyone was tired during the day, but the fire of enthusiasm made us create non-stop,” Tran Thi Thao Nguyen, Vietnam (“International Relations”, Ural Federal University).
“The event flew by unnoticed! It seems like only yesterday we kept filming and editing the project. At the same time, we attended master classes, went on excursions around Volgograd, and in between had time to walk around the evening city. I am very sorry that we had so little time. But very soon our team will get together again on a trip to St. Petersburg,” Dang Vu Quynh Chang, Vietnam (“Journalism”, Russian State Humanitarian University).
RUDN students also participated in the forum:
- Masiliso Mutumba (Zambia), “Construction”, 2nd year;
- Sila Lassana Massouba (Guinea-Bissau), “Journalism”, master programme.
“For the first time I tried myself as a host of an event. It was a great experience! All students are sociable and cheerful! Together with the organizers of the forum, we plunged into the world of media, got acquainted with the history of Volgograd and created content for projects,” Sila Lassana Massuba, Guinea-Bissau (“Journalism”, master student).
The winning team will go on a press tour to St. Petersburg on the referral of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science.
The material was prepared by Abdulay Jeru Diko, student of the Faculty of Philology (“Journalism”, 4th year).
Edited by Anastasia Zhuravleva, student of the Faculty of Philology (“Journalism”, 4th year).
