Representatives of the RUDN University participated in the 30th annual conference of the Society for Light Treatment and Biological Rhythms (SLTBR)

The 30th Annual Meeting of the Society for Light Treatment and Biological Rhythms- SLTBR 2018 was held in Groningen (The Netherlands) on June 21-24, 2018.

This scientific conference united researchers from various countries of the world studying the effect of photomodulating effects of visible light on the state of the biological rhythms of the organism.

In recent years, phototherapy (exposure to bright light) has been successfully used in clinical practice (mainly abroad) to treat various disorders of the nervous system and higher nervous activity, such as seasonal affective disorders, depression, mania, sleep disorders, etc.

Dr. med. Blagonravov Mikhail Lvovich, head of the Department of General Pathology and Pathological Physiology of V.A. Frolov Medical Institute took part in the conference and delivered the report on: «The effect of brightlight on blood pressure and heart rate in essential hypertension». He made a presentation of new experimental data, that had been obtained using a unique technique of 24-hour radio-telemetric monitoring of physiological parameters in animals in free-motion mode.

The materials of the conference are published in the international scientific journal «Neuropsychobiology», indexed in the Web of Science database (DOI: 10.1159 / 000489584).
